You may have heard about the DRAGON BALL-related gathering that took place on September 1st in New York. At the call of a single Facebook event, over one-thousand people united in front of the Washington Square Arch to scream like the animes protagonist, Goku.
You can see a video of the event below. Take a moment to treat yourself to fellow fans becoming Super Saiyans!
And don’t worry if you’re sad about missing out. Since news of this unique gathering went viral, plenty of other similar events have popped up on Facebook. This includes various more “Scream Like Goku” opportunities for fans all over the country, and even across the world.
DRAGON BALL isn’t the only anime getting representation through planned screaming, though. If you’re in South Carolina you can take the chance to act out the most iconic INUYASHA dialogue…
Or you can head up north to experience every other NARUTO episode.
Whatever event you choose, they’re all a great way for anime fans from near and far to get together and just let it all out.
Not in the Mood to Scream?
Someone in Texas even had the ingenious idea of combining the two events.
So is there a point to all this? For the most part, not really. But why be a downer when instead you could test if running like Naruto actually is faster than normal running.
These events are largely for fun and are a much cheaper and easier way to connect with fellow anime fans than official conventions. And all in all, sometimes you just need an excuse to yell about things, especially with the school year starting for a lot of us. So, be sure to check Facebook for more weird anime events near you!
